One one hand we have the Wade Bros saying it was passed that you can't have an inland race on the same weekend as a channel race (except Bourges ) and on the other Stuart Fawcett saying that it was only passed not to hold open races on the same weekend. As Martin is one of the members on the race committee I think it is important that this point is clarified --so who is correct ?

As opinion is divided throughout the WDA why not let the membership decide. The choice is simple, either race Tuesday with a late liberation or put back till Saturday when birds will be better prepared. All clubs could ask their members and pass results to Fed secs on Sunday and the majority fed vote wins

The weather committee have voted by 3 to 0 for the birds not to go today .
Previous forecasts had indicated a chance for a race but todays forecasts are showing heavy cloud and rain moving into Wakefield area by 9.00 am ,sunrise is not untill 6.30 .
The rest of the weekend weather looks poor ,I will arrange to speak to the 5 emergency committe members to look at options .

As I type this article we are on the sixth consecutive day of low cloud/fog at the top end of the Amalgamation. We did get a few hours of sunshine yesterday afternoon which at least allowed members to let their pigeons out for exercise. The forecast for the next few days is similar with a slight improvement at the weekend. Half of our members(5) have already said they are not sending this weekend. If this happens in all the clubs based in the northern federations there will be a considerable loss of income to the WDA.
