The first race

As I type this article we are on the sixth consecutive day of low cloud/fog at the top end of the Amalgamation. We did get a few hours of sunshine yesterday afternoon which at least allowed members to let their pigeons out for exercise. The forecast for the next few days is similar with a slight improvement at the weekend. Half of our members(5) have already said they are not sending this weekend. If this happens in all the clubs based in the northern federations there will be a considerable loss of income to the WDA.
If the 5 man Emergency Committee are meeting I hope they will consider this and if they decide to postpone racing for a week then the following could be an option.
April 12th Wakefield
April 18th (Good Friday) Thoresby Hall or Wakefield.
April 21st (Easter Monday) Leicester or Newark
The normal program would then resume.
