WDA yb programme

I have been in touch with all Federation Secretarys asking them if they would prefer to change the Billericay race to a race from Newark
I think that to race from Billericay followed by the Maidstone National will be a financial disaster for the WDA with the present state of YB racing, SOME ARE SAYING THEY HAVE ONLY LOST A COUPLE OF YBs, REMEMBER WE HAVE LOST A WDA PRESIDENT THROUGH THE ISSUE OF POOR YB RETURNS.
A race from Newark before the Maidstone Nat will increase the birdage for Maidstone because it will put all the birds that have returned late back into the programme.
Some will be saying I have no right to put this option to the Fed Secs, I disagree, I, as Secretary of the WDA have a duty to ALL the members to inform them if I think it is going wrong.

LOOKING FORWARD
The seasons coming to an end and it will soon be AGM time
I think its about time the members picked their 2 Delegates to go to the WDA AGM with a mandate to GO SORT IT OUT, i.e, sit down as a UNITED ORGANISATION, not 10 feds with the usual US 'N' THEM attitude, and decide the RACE POINTS, GROUPS [do we need them, theres no more big Feds and safety in numbers might count], ETC AND SET THEM FOR 5 YEARS.
Do we need to have club meetings to decide WDA policy, some Feds are now no bigger than some clubs of years ago, Have a Fed meeting all members welcome and vote on WDA BUSINESS, All you need is a chairman that rules with an IRON FIST, some clubs have members voting at meetings that have not flown for years, they are telling you when and where to fly your pigeons just because they pay their subs, Madness,

Well thats my opinion, I look forward to hearing yours but keep it calm and we may enjoy the debate

Hello Blaydon
hopefully sat morning at latest, 1 fed wants Billericay and 2 feds have proposed something totally different, it only needed a yes or no, don't know why everything has to be so hard

do you not think its big jump from huntington to maidstone for the young birds brian.

big rob

Hello big rob
They have done it for the last 2 years without any problems, I could not believe it when they put Billericay into the programme along with Maidstone

Big Rob,

we flew Huntingdon, Peterborough and then Maidstone YB National the last 2 years without problem.

Fit healthy pigeons will handle a jump far better than tired ones that had a chowin the week before.

Stuart

true stuart at end of the day they are just babies and still learning.wda need sit down at end of the season brian and decide wat would be best young bird programme for next season.there sud be two groups up north and south for the 1st 4 races not 5 groups

big rob

Why not make Billericay the national and finish with 2 newarks

Makes sence

I thought I might get away with changeing Billericay to Newark and did not want to push it too much, the members wanted Maidstone as the National, I am not sure they wanted Billericay the week before

Would it not be wise to keep going out in distance and not coming back then to go back out to distance are would it not be a good idea to race huntingdon then have the billericay as our national then have one come back race and finnish on that lads I know will not make the nat due to birds falling it to the moult they think they will make billericay ok maybe just but don't think they will be able to beat nature. Then our yb nat would be on the weekend it was meant to be on. Well we will all have diffrent ideas on what's right but do we need to go out to 280 mile that our members up the back of the wda are going to have to fly for a yb nat. Hope you get it sorted brian it is a good idea to be thinking of the birds and the money side of things to good luck on trying to please all members

A morgan

I want maidstone as our nat and on the date its set at now brian. Yours in sport rob blackburn

big rob

I agree with you Rob keep the YB National at Maidstone and on this date
why change it so late? thought every race had to booked in and early. What has brought this on

The National will be from Maidstone on the date thats booked and I know Newark will be available if we choose to go there instead of Billericay, The ONLY issue is Billericay or Newark NOTHING else

What has happened is putting the racing back has meant birds will be more in the moult for the national than before. There is nothing wrong with Maidstone just the time we are going .we are going 2weeks later than last year we started thec3rd April last season the7th this season the birdage will be down because of the moult as well as the losses.I am on the dark and have the lights on and my birds are throwing flights now,we have 2weeks to the national a lot will be the same.I won the national last year the birdfell to bits the Tuesday after what will they be like going as late this year ?

does'nt matter what you decide to do brian you won't please every one mate

big rob

Thanks for that big rob but I wont decide what to do the members will and I dont need to please every one, just the majority

My vote for newark now brian it makes at lot of sense.short race before maidstone nat would be better for the young birds than having a billericay.at end of the day this is all about wats best for the young birds not us are is it with some flyers makes me wonder brian.come on lads they are still babies yet and still learning.these birds are our future racing team let's think about them and not us

Brian - Has my post from yesterday been deleted for any particular reason

Hello cph
Certainly not that I am aware of, are you sure you posted it right, did you actually see it on the site, you may have to post it again, the only posts I delete are the rubbish about handbags etc

When we do get it sorted let,s keep it and only fix the bit,s that,s
broken instead of doing the whole lot year after year.
