Passion Play Bishop Auckland

What’s this about you may well ask ,a couple of weeks ago I was approached by the organisers of the above to see if I could help with a basket of pigeons for both perfomances of the play which was to take place on Easter Friday in Bishop Auckland market place in front of an audience of 2,500 people for each performance .
As it was going to be the second week of racing the only help I could get for them was from Gary Puckering who is no longer going to race his birds because of health problems ,and he said he would help
They wanted 2 baskets with 6 birds in each
I informed the organisers that we had it sorted
Last week I received an email saying that Gary had to take out public liability insurance ,he had to do it but they would reimburse him.they also pointed out that because they had a horse a donkey and pigeons in the play they needed a performing animals licence and the lofts would need to be inspected before hand
At the weekend Gary and his wife decided to self isolate due to both being over 80 with ongoing health problems .
Tuesday night after a day of phone calls I decided to ring the organisers and explain where the problems were I could not get through so left a message to contact me , about a hour later they rang to tell me the play had been cancelled due to health concerns, problem solved for time being
If you want to see what the play is about search you tube for the passion play which has previously been held in London lasts about an hour and forty minutes
