BASKET CHARGES

There seems to be some confusion about how the WDA conducts its business concerning basket charges and national prices so here's what happened.
At the Finance meeting Richard Wade the delegate for West Durham Fed tried his best to keep the prices as last year but could not get a seconder for his proposal. As a result of a £10,000 loss the year before it was recommended that the basket charges would be £19 and Nationals be £1-45 per bird, before any vote could be taken I as Secretary informed the Fed Delegate s that this would have to go back to the clubs for OUR MEMBERS to vote on, This was done as per WDA rule, so OUR MEMBERS VOTED 8FEDS FOR & 1 AGAINST to accept £19 & £1.35 at nationals.
The money in the WDA has been accumulated over the last 60 years and not there to give the present members cheaper racing, It's there to provide for all the members, 2 new wagons have just been bought to ensure our racing without the need for a levy to be placed on the members
