The RPRA have received a complaint about someone liberating pigeons on the bridge over the A1 near RAF Leeming...

This has been passed to the NEHU.

If you are caught liberating within 8 miles of an aerodrome you can be dealt with by the Police.

I have just had a call from John McPherson who is the team leader bird control at RAF Leeming airport.
 
He wanted to report a fancier releasing 2 crates of pigeons on the bridge across the A1 right next to the airport.
 
They were unable to get a name but the fancier told them he had been releasing his pigeon from that point for years.
 
I assured John that we would notify our regional secretary to make them aware of this problem in their region and also put a notice in the BHW as a warning to members in this area.
 
If they catch this man again they are going to get his number plate and call the non emergency police line to try and trace this man so that further action can be taken to prevent this happening.
