Thursday 7.15 ,picked up Cockfield and West Durham back to yard for 8.00 ,wagons sorted and set off for Darlington at 9.00 with 1 wagon and a trailer arrived at Dover for 5.30 am arrived at Arras for 9.15 parked on lorry park about 1 mile from liberation site to keep clear of gypsies
Friday. 3.00 removed water from birds fed them at 4.00 and clean water back on by 4.30
Saturday up at 4.00 travelled on to liberation site,full cloud cover
8.00 am. Skies brightening from the north ,by 8.15 bits of blue sky
8.45 20% blue skies
9.00 liberated birds into a north wind ,birds went south for approx 1/2 mile then broke into 2 batches ,1 going west then turning north onto the normal route they take, ,other batch going east before splitting again into 2 batches 1 going northerly the other going east .
Setting off back at 9,30 for first 8 mile of trip cloud was high with patches of blue visibility was 10 mile plus
Between 8 and 25 miles full cloud cover with good visibility
After 25 mile 50% blue sky ,arrived at Calais 80 % blue was able to see England
